As our participants across the state embark on school holidays like they’ve never experienced before as a result of COVID-19, Shooting Stars staff spent the last week of Term 1 preparing take-home packs for the girls to keep busy and safe at home over the two-week period.
Each site took charge of organising their packs, tailoring them to their participants’ needs. Our Narrogin Site provided each of its participants with a netball to follow along with West Coast Fever’s drill challenges and Netball at Home program. They also included pencil cases filled with stationery and a range of activities including, colouring-ins, design competitions and more.
Our Leonora Site followed suit with their take-home packs, consisting of many indoor West Coast Fever activities, puzzles, crosswords, colouring-ins, notepads and stationery. The Leonora District High School also kindly donated a range of toiletries and sanitary products to support the participants in keeping good hygiene especially through this period.
Working closely with West Coast Fever, Shooting Stars has organised a range of Zoom Meetings between our participants and Fever’s elite athletes, where they are able to connect with the athletes around how to keep physically and mentally well during this period and how to keep occupied.
Shooting Stars Executive Officer, Fran Haintz said she was extremely pleased with the team.

“It was great to see our Shooting Stars staff going above and beyond to make sure our participants were well equipped to tackle the challenges ahead these school holidays.”
