From 8 to 12 December 2025, Shooting Stars staff from across Western Australia came together in Boorloo for our annual All-Staff Forum. It was a dedicated week to reflect on the year that was, strengthen connections across the whole team, build skills, and plan for the year ahead.
With staff travelling in from host schools and communities across WA and SA, the forum was a rare and valuable chance to be in one place as one team. It created space to celebrate everything achieved throughout 2025, share learnings from across sites, and reconnect with the shared purpose that underpins our work.
The week opened with a Welcome to Country with Go Cultural Tours, setting a meaningful tone and grounding the forum in respect, reflection and connection. From there, the program moved into a mix of whole-team sessions and practical planning, including an address from our EO Helen, strategy conversations, and opportunities for teams to collaborate across departments in preparation for 2026.
Alongside planning, the forum also prioritised staff development, strengthening skills, exploring what’s working across the program, and building confidence to carry momentum into the new year. Just as importantly, it made time for relationship-building, yarning, and team connection, recognising that our work is strongest when we’re supported by one another.
The All-Staff Forum was scheduled to align with a special moment in Shooting Stars’ calendar, as the team prepared to step into the Shooting Stars 10-Year Gala. After a week of reflection, learning and preparation, staff left the forum feeling connected, energised, and ready for what’s ahead.
Thank you to all staff who took part and helped make the week so meaningful. Coming together each year reminds us of the strength of our team, and the collective impact we can have when we plan, learn and move forward together.
