Shooting Stars demonstrates its commitment to empowering its staff on their career journey as Carnarvon Assistant Program Coordinator, Natalie Crossley takes time away from the program to complete her teaching practical.
Shooting Stars sent Narrogin Assistant Coordinator, Latia Kickett to Carnarvon to bolster the team there to enable Natalie to focus on her studies for the seven-week period.
Natalie is undergoing her teaching practical at Carnarvon Community College and is able to stay connected with Shooting Stars through her Year 5 class, consisting of up to ten Shooting Stars participants.
Shooting Stars Carnarvon Program Manager, Bernie Kop said supporting employees to achieve their career goals is what Shooting Stars is all about.
“Shooting Stars is all about empowering young women to succeed in any capacity,” said Kop.
“I’m honoured to be part of an organisation that places significant emphasis on supporting its staff in developing their skillset and empowering them to be the best they can be.”
Shooting Stars’ mission is to empower young Aboriginal girls and women. Supporting our staff to upskill themselves is just one of the ways we are achieving this.
Less than 30% of young Aboriginal women have completed Year 12, compared with 60% of other Australian women. Shooting Stars is changing this. This end of financial year, help us raise $5,000 to empower Aboriginal girls and women in remote communities. Be part of the change! Click here to donate.
