Shooting Stars is delighted to announce the latest partnership for our South Australian sites, with OZ Minerals committing to a three-year Major Partnership agreement.
OZ Minerals are a mining company dealing primarily in copper and are based in South Australia. Their purpose, “going beyond what’s possible to make lives better”, is synergistic with Shooting Stars’ vision of empowered Aboriginal girls and women, making the partnership mutually meaningful.
The partnership was secured through OZ Minerals’ Community Investment Fund, where they work to support organisations, such as ours, to achieve self-sustaining outcomes so that communities close to their operations benefit from their presence.
OZ Minerals’ CEO, Andrew Cole, reflected on the partnership’s importance.
“OZ Minerals’ partnership with Shooting Stars represents a fundamental tenet of our business, ‘going beyond what’s possible to make lives better’. Our support for Shooting Stars and the young First Nations women who participate in the program is an exciting next step in our Educating the Next Generation program, which aims to lift opportunities for future generations and create value in our communities.”
Fran Haintz, Executive Officer at Shooting Stars, is excited to welcome OZ Minerals on board.
“We are thrilled to welcome OZ Minerals to the Shooting Stars family. At Shooting Stars we value genuine collaborative partnerships that work to provide positive outcomes for our participants. The alignment of values across our businesses highlight our shared visions of providing opportunities and empowering young girls and women to drive their own destiny.”
OZ Minerals are the first Major Partner for the recent expansion into South Australia, where Shooting Stars are working with girls living on Barngarla country, empowering them throughout their education journey.
