The gold mining body has made a three-year commitment to Netball WA, and as one of their subsidiaries, Glass Jar Australia will receive a portion of the committed funding, which will support general operations of the Shooting Stars program across all our sites.
Netball Chief Executive Officer, Simone Hansen said: “The WA Netball Community has built a strong and lasting relationship with the Gold Sector. Together, we're working to support and uplift communities and build connections that will endure for generations.”
As part of their partnership with Netball WA, the Gold Industry Group and its funding members have walked alongside us at Shooting Stars for the past six years, helping to drive our vision of Empowered Aboriginal girls and women.
Glass Jar Australia’s Executive Officer, Helen Ockerby said: “Back in 2019, the very beginning of our partnership with the Gold Industry Group marked our fourth year of operations at Shooting Stars, and the partnership helped to enable our further expansion in the Goldfields. Since then, the reach of Shooting Stars has more than doubled, and as I proudly reflect on how far we’ve come, I hope the Gold Industry Group and its members share this pride in what we’ve achieved together over the years. I look forward to what we’ll continue to accomplish moving forward, and the positive impact this will have across all Shooting Stars sites and their communities.”
The Gold Industry Group’s funding members are Northern Star Resources, Anglogold Ashanti Australia, Gold Fields, Ramelius Resources, Gold Road Resources, Bellevue Gold and The Perth Mint.
