Five original Shooting Stars participants are set to graduate Narrogin Senior High School this year as the Narrogin site reaches its fourth year in operation.
Jayeisha, Jemma, Che Leigh, Nicole and Aaliyah have been with Shooting Stars since the program piloted in Narrogin in 2018.
Shooting Stars Regional Manager, Latoya Bolton-Black said seeing the success of the individual participants is a very empowering and rewarding experience.
“When Shooting Stars first started in Narrogin, I was the Program Coordinator, so built a strong relationship with the now Year 12 participants,” said Bolton-Black.
“Empowering our participants to stay in school is one of the core outcomes of the program, and even more important is the individual journeys’ our participants have experienced along the way.”
“Over the years these participants have faced challenges, celebrated achievements and through it all have become great role models for their fellow peers and within community.”
“Through Shooting Stars, I was privileged to mentor these young ladies through their education journey and am very proud of our Year 12 participants on this important milestone.”
Bolton-Black said she is privileged and proud to be part of an organisation that affects genuine change.
“I am privileged to work alongside a group of strong, resilient, passionate women who are motivated and driven to drive change in the communities we work in and with each and every participant we work with.”
