West Coast Fever captain and Shooting Stars Ambassador, Courtney Bruce recently took time out of her off-season break to visit Shooting Stars Kimberley sites in the north of the State.
Fresh off a post-season trip to America, Bruce jetted north to Derby and Halls Creek in November.
Bruce mingled with Program participants and even brought along her Samsung Australian Diamonds dress to show to the eager students.
Shooting Stars Executive Officer Fran Haintz said the positive influence of the West Coast Fever players helped to reinforce the Program’s mission – to help more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls stay engaged in school and work towards successful post school pathways.
“Courtney is not only a great player, but she is also a wonderful role model in the community,” said Haintz.
“Courtney has supported and been engaged with Shooting Stars for three years now as an ambassador. It’s been really special to see her continue to form strong, lasting bonds with our Shooting Stars participants.”
2019 was a significant year for the Program, which saw the Gold Industry Group join as its inaugural Premier Partner, with the whole of sport partnership also extending to West Coast Fever as an Elite Partner.
