Seven Shooting Stars participants descended on Perth last week to be part of the team representing Leonora District High School in mixed basketball for Country Week.
The team competed in nine games over five days, finishing fourth in their division.
Shooting Stars Leonora Program Coordinator, Shelley Coleman said it was a great opportunity for the Shooting Stars girls.
“It means a lot for our girls to be able to represent their community at Country Week and make Leonora proud,” said Coleman.
“It’s the first time in a long time Leonora have had a team in the Country Championships and there has been great collaboration between the school and Shooting Stars to make it happen.”
In the lead up to Country Week, Leonora District High School held a number of fundraising initiatives within the local community, including a car wash, to support the team in getting to the Country Championships.
