Shooting Stars has again celebrated a successful 2019, at last night’s Annual General Meeting, hosted via videoconference.
The Meeting provided the Board the opportunity to reflect on and discuss the organisation’s achievements in 2019, while also continuing to plan for 2020, despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 outbreak.
The year marked a number of milestones for Shooting Stars, including launching its eighth site in Laverton, while the Program also surpassed more than 400 participants.
Shooting Stars also extended its program into all primary schools including Narrogin to assist in developing a stronger sense of self and cultural identity, connection to country and increased knowledge of health and wellbeing before they transition to High School.
Additionally, the year saw Dr Glenda Kickett appointed as the Chairperson of Glass Jar Australia, after being on the Board since March 2017.
The Board also welcomed Rishelle Hume and Carol Innes.
Significantly, the Gold Industry Group joined as the Program’s Premier Partner, while Shooting Stars also welcomed Linkforce to the family.
Shooting Stars Chairperson Dr Glenda Kickett said it was an opportune time to reflect on 2019.
“There’s no doubt we will look back on 2019 as one of the most significant years in our Program’s short history,” Dr Kickett said.
“I would also like to acknowledge our wonderful Board members who continue to give tirelessly to Shooting Stars, and we’re lucky to have access to their expertise.”
