Shooting Stars celebrates one of its trainees successfully completing their Certificate III in Sport and Recreation this month.
Assistant Trainee, Raeona Weaver a young Aboriginal woman from Derby, has been with Shooting Stars since 2019.
The traineeship was completed in a full-time capacity with on the job training and support provided by Shooting Stars and North West Regional TAFE. Kimberley Regional Manager, Kirsten Howard provided mentoring to Raeona throughout the duration of the traineeship.
Shooting Stars Executive Officer Fran Haintz said it was a great achievement for both Raeona and the organisation.
“Shooting Stars is all about empowering women. This is true both across our participants and our staff,” said Haintz.
“Our program is only as strong as its employees, so we prioritise supporting their professional development in every way we can.”
