Two of our Carnarvon Shooting Stars participants and up and coming netball superstars, Kevi and Mele, have been selected to be part of the U14 Midwest Gascoyne Regional Academy squad.
The girls have not only been showcasing their netball skills, but their commitment to the shooting stars values of respect, pride and success. Because of this success they are being supported by Shooting Stars throughout the seven weeks that they must travel to Geraldton each Sunday to take part in the academy program.
The selection also provides them support as a regional based talented athlete and allows them to continue their development process along Netball WA’s athlete pathway.
The selection process has been extremely successful, with the girls also chosen to represent the region in the Perth Cup, held in Perth in October.
Natalie Crossley, Program Coordinator at the Carnarvon Shooting Stars site, is proud of the girls achievements. “The Carnarvon Shooting Stars team are really proud of Kevi and Mele for being identified in the squad – they have been representing the Shooting Stars way and have earnt their place. We’re excited to watch them represent Shooting Stars in Geraldton and fingers crossed in Perth in October.”
