Stars participants and their families across the eight sites have celebrated their significant achievements across the year at their respective end of year Awards Nights.
More than 1000 people attended the events across the State, with families, teachers, service providers and community members volunteering their time to cook, decorate venues, help the students get ready and provide technical support on the night.
Awards were presented to those students who attended school at a rate of 90% or higher, as well as Shooting Stars Spirit Awards for students who have worked hard to achieve great outcomes in 2020.
Shooting Stars Executive Officer, Fran Haintz said the Awards Nights gave participants, program coordinators and family and friends of Shooting Stars the opportunity to celebrate all of 2020’s achievements.
“2020 has been an unprecedented year, presenting all sorts of challenges for everyone,” said Haintz.
“The Awards Nights gave our participants and staff a chance to reflect on the year and everything that was achieved.”
“We’ve seen some fantastic results across our program over the past 12 months and we’re really excited to see what 2021 holds.”
Shooting Stars students will break for the summer school holidays and return to school in February 2021.
