Shooting Stars is proud to support NAIDOC Week and the 2022 theme, Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! We do this through empowering our girls to stand up for themselves, their mob and their community.
This year's theme calls for us to continue standing up for systemic change, rallying around our mob, elders and community. By asking everyone to Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! we are asking people to make a commitment to move beyond acknowledgement, good intentions, empty words and promises.
The Shooting Stars vision is empowered Aboriginal girls and women – women that have the capacity to stand up for themselves and become the next generation of change-makers in their communities. By ensuring that our participants can take charge of their futures, we can work towards a more equitable future for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
We want you to Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! with us to amplify our voices and narrow the gap between aspiration and reality, good intent and outcome.
