The Meeka Ngarlus have been titled 2020 Meeka Shooting Stars Cup Champions after winning the two-day tournament on home soil last week.
Shooting Stars participants from Leonora, Laverton and Mullewa travelled to Meekatharra to compete in the Shooting Stars Meeka Cup netball tournament.
The 2020 edition saw four teams participate, one team representing each site, consisting of both upper primary and early secondary participants.
Five Narrogin secondary participants were also on hand to provide support and guidance across the competition, putting their leadership skills learnt in the program into practice.
Shooting Stars Executive Officer, Fran Haintz said the competition is a highlight of the Shooting Stars calendar.
“The Meeka Cup is a great opportunity to bring some of our sites together in a fun and encouraging environment,” said Haintz.
“It was also a great opportunity for our Narrogin site leaders to develop their leadership skills and be role models for our younger participants coming through the pathway. On their return to Narrogin these leaders will be nominating for Student Council, true Shooting Stars!”
