Shooting Stars participant, Jayeisha Ford is on a mission to shave the world from blood cancer as she takes part in one of Australia’s most-loved charity events, the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave on the 14 March 2021.
A cause very close to her, Jayeisha said she is doing this for the families affected every day by blood cancer.
“I want to do the World’s Greatest Shave because one of my uncles died of Leukaemia, my Dad’s brother,” said Jayeisha.
“I want to help the families that are affected by Leukaemia, because when my Dad explains what he went through when his brother passed away, it really hurts me.”
“Even if I can just contribute a small amount to the process of finding a cure for Leukaemia, I am willing to try.”
In her final year of school at Narrogin Senior High School, this is just one of many ways Jayeisha has shown her strong leadership skills throughout her Shooting Stars journey.
The World’s Greatest Shave campaign aims to raise vital funds to support the growing number of Australians diagnosed with blood cancer including leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other related blood disorders.
Currently, 47 Australians are diagnosed with blood cancer every day. The Leukaemia Foundation’s latest Blood Cancer in Australia report confirms that in just 15 years, by 2035, this number will more than double to 100 people every day.
