Since becoming Shooting Stars’ first corporate partner in 2016, Horizon Power partnership continues to grow and support Shooting Stars. In 2022, they also added another first by becoming a workplace giving partner, and as winners of a $20,000 leadership and management training prize that could be donated to a charity of choice, Horizon Power nominated Shooting Stars to be the recipients.
This award was received under the ‘Lifeline Workplace and Wellbeing Excellence’ category at the AIM Pinnacle Awards held in November 2022. Recognition was earned for Horizon Power's staff health and wellbeing program, which aligns with values that Shooting Stars also holds dear. As an organisation that recognises the importance of staff mental health and wellbeing, Shooting Stars is excited to continue showing their commitment to their staff with the additional support of this donation. The success and impact of Shooting Stars programs relies heavily on the staff’s capabilities and approaches, so it is exciting that even more staff can access professional growth through AIM’s training courses this year.
It is somewhat fitting that Horizon Power’s prize donation will benefit the professional development of Shooting Stars staff, as the corporate partnership is centred around the Pathways & Leadership program, which supports Shooting Stars participants in their senior years of high school as they prepare for their post-school journeys into university, vocational training or employment.
Horizon Power’s dedication to their partnership with Shooting Stars is clear, with the company’s CEO, Stephanie Unwin having visited our Hedland site just last Thursday. We are truly grateful for their continued support and engagement at our sites and events – not only for the generous funding that enables the growth and delivery of our programs, but also for their genuine care, support and involvement. We intend to put this unexpected but greatly valued and appreciated training package to good use!
