West Coast Fever stars Jhaniele Fowler and Courtney Bruce are now part of the Shooting Stars team, both becoming ambassadors as the program continues to expand across Western Australia.
The duo made the trip down to Narrogin this week to visit prospective members of the newest Shooting Stars site, which is due to be launched in Term two.
The program is now affecting genuine change in the lives of more than 300 participants across the state, with Narrogin set to be the seventh Shooting Stars site.
Shooting Stars Executive Officer Fran Haintz said the positive influence of Fowler and Bruce would reinforce the program’s mission to help more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls become engaged in school.
“Both Courtney and Jhaniele are not just amazing netballers, but their gentle and positive nature will be an uplifting influence on our Shooting Stars girls,” she said.
“We are very fortunate to have these two role models ready to encourage young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls to help further their education and future prospects.”
“Narrogin will be the first Shooting Stars site to open in the South-West and we’re incredibly excited to work in such an engaging community.”
Members from the Federal Government are expected to be present in the opening of the Narrogin site for the start of Term Two.
