Shooting Stars is proud to announce the relaunch of its mental health and wellbeing program as ‘Deadly Minds Matter’. Formerly known as ‘Seven Sisters’, this name change was driven by valued feedback and advice from communities in which Shooting Stars operates. Being culturally responsive and respectful is a key ingredient of the ‘Shooting Stars Way’, and this ethos guides everything the organisation does.
While the name may be new, the essence of the program itself remains unchanged. Deadly Minds Matter continues to provide Shooting Stars participants with the tools that build resilience, manage stress, and maintain positive mental health holistically. The program focuses on the importance of emotional wellbeing and equips participants with practical strategies to cope with life’s ups and downs. These skills promote positive social and emotional wellbeing, preparing the girls to confidently respond and adapt to challenges that may arise.
Shooting Stars is grateful for the unwavering support from its valued partners, including Mineral Resources, Telethon, Lotterywest, the Phillips Foundation, and Hendercare, whose contributions have been instrumental in developing the Deadly Minds Matter program into what it is today. Their continued support enables Shooting Stars to offer the emotional empowerment that is fostered in the Deadly Minds Matter program.
