Who is Shooting Stars?

Shooting Stars is an initiative of Glass Jar Australia, which empowers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and women across Western and South Australia to make informed choices about their education and employment journey, helping them shoot for the stars.

The organisation is predominantly run and led by Aboriginal women, for Aboriginal girls and young women at 22 school-based sites. We know that no two communities are the same, so the Shooting Stars program is place-based, culturally responsive, and community-led.

Our program offers advocacy and support as our participants develop confidence, cultural identity, well-being, positive relationships and the tools and resources that open the door to self-determination, empowering each young woman to reach her full potential.
