Shooting Stars is excited to welcome CBH Group as a new three-year partner, supporting programs in the Mid West, including Morawa and Mullewa, while creating opportunities to strengthen support across the broader Wheatbelt region.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to creating opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women in the regions, supporting them to strengthen confidence, wellbeing and pathways for the future.
To learn more about our program, CBH representatives Jo and Kim recently visited our Morawa and Mullewa sites, creating an opportunity to meet participants, connect with the local communities and see firsthand the positive impact of Shooting Stars in the Midwest.
The partnership is already helping to build meaningful connections. During NAIDOC Week, Shooting Stars joined the CBH team at the organisation's Perth office for a celebration, attended by members of our Perth team, the Midwest Regional Manager and Shooting Stars participants and staff from Kiara College.
Together, we all took part in a range of interactive activities, including a Shooting Stars jigsaw puzzle, a collaborative artwork and creatingscented bags using native leaves and oils. The event provided an opportunity to share culture, learn from one another and strengthen relationships across organisations and communities.
Looking ahead, the partnership also opens conversations about future career pathways. CBH has already hosted Midwest participants for an on-site experience at their Geraldton Grain Terminal , providing valuable insight into the grain industry and the diverse careers it offers. With harvest season approaching, CBH and Shooting Stars are also exploring ways to raise awareness of seasonal employment opportunities that may be of interest to participants looking to gain valuable work experience and earn income while building their skills.
We thank CBH Group for their commitment to Shooting Stars and look forward to working together to create positive outcomes for participants, families and communities over the next three years.
