Our Story
Mullewa District High School currently has 29 Shooting Star girls enrolled in our program ranging from year 4 students through to year 12. We have had a total of 35 throughout the year so far.
Our Shooting Stars Room is a calm, quiet space where the girls can come to hang out. There are a range of activities available, including games, jigsaw puzzles, iPads, paper crafts and colouring in. The Shooting Stars Room is open at lunch time and the girls can bring their lunch to eat in the room. At recess we go out into the playground and involve everybody in our fun. We play music while we jump skipping ropes and elastics, play hopscotch, hula hoop, shoot hoops with our netballs and our favourite new game is Hop Hoop challenge with Rock, Paper, Scissors!
We have had many rewards trips to Geraldton for those students who demonstrate the appropriate behaviours and attendance. We have also had 2 sleepovers at school where we cooked our dinner, played party games and watched a movie. We have gone to both the Midwest Primary and High School Carnivals held in Geraldton and loved catching up with our Midwest Shooting Stars Sisters. The High School Girls went to the Leadership Camp in Perth in term 2.
We are preparing to go to the Midwest Schools Performing Arts Showcase in week 3 this term where we will dance on stage! It will be the first time Mullewa DHS has been a part of this! In week 7 we’ll hold our Awards Night where we can celebrate our successes from the year.
After school we have had Netball and fitness training sessions and this term we will be doing the heritage walk trails around Mullewa. We will be improving our fitness as well as our knowledge of our town!
