Which school are you based at? Narrogin Senior High School
Give us a snap shot of what your day to day job consists of: My day to day job consists of helping the program coordinator organise and plan session plans for health and wellbeing classes and recess and lunch activities. I also assist in helping to improve the young girls attendance and having one on one time with the girls for support.
What do you love most about your job? The thing I love the most about my job is being a role model for the young girls and building a relationship with them to encourage and support them to achieve their goals in the future.
How has working with Shooting Stars benefitted you? It has benefitted me by working with a team to build my confidence and self esteem to take on challenges with in my role. Its giving me the opportunity to not only better myself and my skills but also make a positive impact within my community.
What attracted you to the role? What attracted me to this role is Netball. I love playing netball and have coached some of the girls in the shooting stars program but also it was working with the youth. I’ve always wanted to find a job throught the education to help younger Aboriginal kids.
How do you envisage the programme evolving in the future? I can see shooting stars expanding to other regional towns and becoming bigger.
