Shooting Stars thanks its Collaborating Partners
The McCusker Centre for Citizenship at UWA, established with a generous donation from the McCusker Charitable Foundation, is collaborating with students and the broader UWA community, not for profit and community organisations, government and business to make a difference in o communities locally, nationally and globally. Through the internship program, they are building the capacity of future generations to foster caring, connected and socially engaged citizens. They leverage opportunities the Shooting Stars program beneficiaries may have by providing them with fantastic learning experiences via the internship program.
The Western Australian Aboriginal Leadership Institute (WAALI) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation based in Perth, with the vision of inspiring and supporting Aboriginal people to take up leadership opportunities to strengthen their families and communities. WAALI and Shooting Stars collaborate to deliver leadership opportunities for young Aboriginal women across remote Western Australia.
Women in Mining Western Australia aims to encourage women to increase their presence in the industry, provide a strong network for women, and for the industry to be proactive in attracting and retaining women in the resources sector. In 2018, Women in Mining WA chose to elect Shooting Stars as the Charity Partner for their sundowner hosted by Sandfire resources and therefore providing more exposure, networking and fundraising opportunities for Shooting Stars.
Why We Need Your Support
Shooting Stars is a not-for-profit program delivered by Glass Jar Australia. Whilst the outcomes of the program are significant, they are not without cost.
Shooting Stars has already improved the attendance rate of nearly 300 young Aboriginal girls in remote WA communities and our aim is to grow this number to 1,000 over the next five years.
To achieve this, we need your support.
